Heraniau 2012

This project brought the Heraniau community and the Nurse Aid Post to a new level of independence and delivery of care to those that they served through the upgrade of a potable permanent water supply.

Bakua Tinea Medication Program

By Nov 2012 we administered 2000 doses of medication changing the lives of 30% of those affected in the Makira Province alone. This is a life changing experience particularly for children who will not attend school or even die of neglect due to this highly contagious skin disease.

Scabies Medication Program

Another easily managed and preventable disease.

Clinic Refurbishment

The Aid Post also doubles as a maternity centre. Now mothers no longer have to birth in rooms covered in mould.

Water Project - Heraniau Village and Clinic

Our team installed 1.5km of pipe, 15 risers for tap outlets and 2 shower outlets. Two tanks were also installed at the Aid Post. The ablutions have fully functioning water outlets and flushing toilets. All done in less than 4 days!

Wanakuru Village - Wanione Highlands

These people fled the ethnic tensions during the "noughties". This village is at an elevation of 2,500ft and is reached on foot after two hours walk. 110 people are without running water and sanitation.
SPAH will address that issue in 2013.
